Wedding celebration at The Swan

Who doesn’t love a pub wedding?

With the wedding season in full swing, our sister pub, The Swan, has been seeing more and more bookings for wedding parties, and quite frankly we couldn’t be more thrilled! 

We were so honoured that Lewis and Soraya chose to celebrate their wedding at The Swan. With exclusive use of the pub, we wanted all 37 guests to feel very relaxed, be well-fed and have a good time, and we certainly made sure they did. With the charm, character and locally sourced food and drink, the pub holds special meaning for the married couple, as it saw the first milestones of their relationship. 

Lewis, the groom, had grown up a stone’s throw away from The Swan and had worked his first job there too. Having been one of our regulars for years, The Swan has significant meaning to him. Over the course of their relationship, Lewis has taken Soraya to his favourite pub for date nights, and it quickly became ‘their place’. As one of their favourite date venues, it was only fitting to hold their wedding reception here too. The pub space was transformed with decorations handmade by the bride, adding that extra personal touch for the big day and the tables were set up beautifully for the guests to enjoy the bespoke menu freshly prepared by our chef team. 

After the wedding ceremony, and as guests arrived with us, we were sure to provide a pick-me-up and a warm welcome to the guests as they entered the pub. Each guest was greeted with specially prepared sangria on arrival, as well as handmade canapes to keep them going through to the wedding meal. 

We tailored a three-course menu to the bride and groom’s favourite dishes including various vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, making sure no one felt left out. The speeches throughout the meal were a highlight, as they were moving and added to the joy of the day. One of the guests told us ‘we’ve had an amazing day, and the staff and food have been second to none!’

When the wedding meal and speeches had finished, the true party began as guests were entertained with live guitar music and a mariachi band, a special nod to Soraya’s cultural background.

Guests were wined and dined by our staff, with guests exclaiming that it was the ‘best wedding ever.’ 

Lewis and Soraya, a massive thanks to you both. We loved that you kept your day local to you, and chose to celebrate your special day with us.
